Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Are 1 inch acoustic panels enough?

Yes, 1-inch acoustic panels are sufficient if you are installing the right acoustic panels.

Acoustic panels that are made with materials from good acoustic absorption characteristics makes one acoustic panel good.

The quantity of acoustic panels in a room should be sufficient enough to reduce sound as well. Having just one acoustic panel in a room might not be as effective as you think it is.

How Big Should An Acoustic Panel Be?

Acoustic panels should be sized 120cm x 60cm (47 inches x 23 inches) as they are big enough to treat a spot in a room but yet small enough to still allow easy installation.

What Is The Best Thickness For Soundproofing?

You will need thicker panels for soundproofing. Acoustic panels aren't the best option for soundproofing even though they can help with sound reduction.

Will A Few Acoustic Panels Make A Difference?

Yes. By using Burton Acoustix's large acoustic panels, you will be able to feel the difference in your reduction of echoes and reverberations in a room with just 2 panels onto a wall for a room that is average sized.

However, you should need more than just a pair of acoustic panels for larger rooms or offices.

What Is The Minimum Thickness Of Acoustic Panels?

9 milimeters (0.36 inch) in thickness is the minimum thickness of an acoustic panels known to us.

Burton Acoustix's acoustic panels are the thinnest effective acoustic panels that can be found in the market since we use very effective sound reduction material like polyester.

Normal foam and traditional acoustic panels measures 1 inch in thickness at least (albeit not that effective).

Are Cheap Acoustic Panels Worth It?

No, they are not worth it. Acoustic panels are expensive due to the fact of their size which increase the cost for shipping them.

Acoustic panels that are cheap are usually foldable or can be vacuumed pack - These would be your acoustic foam

Acoustic foam have very low density and due to that, sound passes through it very easily, causing no loss in sound energy as sound waves passes through them. Making them ineffective sound reducers in real world application.
